- Pedal just new and stiff or needs adjusting?
- By:admin
- The bike shop just installed my new shimano clipless style pedals. They didn't have the 540's that I'm used to so they put on some half priced jobs. But they are next to impossible to clip in. Is it because they're so new? Or do I need to do some adjustment on the pedal?

All the SPD pedals I've bought came cranked way up in tension. I back waaaaaay off, then ride back and forth over an overpass, adjusting them until I don't fear coming unclipped while climbing. Now I can tell by feel when they are at the tension I like. Remember that you might be able to clip in something too tight, but not clip out!!!!!

Well that's the thing, they should be like a ski binding. You want out...you're out! Thanks for the heads up.
I'll get going on them!

I'll get going on them! Gads those springs were very tight. It took a total of 2 full turns on each pedal to get an acceptable quick clipping!
Thanks again for such a quick response!
