  • @#$% vandals
    By:admin
Last Saturday night somebody attacked my roommate's city beater with a baseball bat or something while it was locked outside of an all-night coffeehouse. They only hit the rear wheel, but taco'd it pretty severely. It was completely unridable because the rim rubbed on both sides of the chainstays.

We have no idea who did it or anything, but I was able to whap it most of the way back into shape, and the LBS trued it the rest of the way. Has anybody else had something like this happen?

No. But I get really worried when my son rides his bike to school. I鎶 just waiting for the phone call that tells me I just lost $800.00.

you'll get that everywhere, In my building, the stupid ass@@@, has painted a graffitti, and I have to paint the entire wall, I am incline to place a notice, about the wall an it goes this way "THIS IS MAY WALL, IF YOU WANT TO WRITE ANYTHING, GO MAKE YOUR ON WALL, AND STOP MAKING MY WALL DIRTY"

I condone neither theft nor vandalism, but at least I can understand the motivation behind the former. My neighborhood suffers the occasional broken car window.

No one has ever vandalized one of my bicycles, but I have lost two of my beaters to theft. I lent one beater to a lady visiting from Germany, and she felt terrible when someone stole it by cutting the lock. I had to work hard to reassure her that my loss was minimal and that I did not hold her accountable.

I have seen all kinds of damage. A wheel cut in two with a machete. Kicked to bits. Flatted. Wheels stolen and replaced with a wheel with a flat tire. Stripped to a bare frame left hanging to the rack by the lock
