  • Bunny hopping and pain
    By:admin
I was trying out bunny hopping for the first time on monday. And now its wednesday and my joints are sore as heck. Specificially, the inside of my elbows and my shoulders. Am i doing something wrong when i bunny hop? Am i not landing right when i do it? I hate to go through all this everytime i practice hopping.

Just your body adjusting to a new activity. You probably haven't done that mothion in a long time and it takes some time for your muscles to adapt.

I know when I haven't ridden off-road in a while, my tri-ceps are sore. I guess I'm not using them on the road bike, and when I do on the mtn bike, I'm sore!

    killerasp,

I just started doing a lot more jumping lately and I noticed the first couple of days my biceps were sore and my back was also sore inbetween my shoulderblades (this wouldn't have been an issue if I hadn't stopped working out two weeks before starting biking again). That soreness is normal. When you pull up for a bunny-hop you use your back, shoulders, and biceps mainly. If you don't have a workout routine that consists of some good bicep curls and shoulder raises as well as some type of rowing-style exercise then you shouldn't be surprised by the soreness.
