  • trek 520 and sti question
    By:admin
    Hello,
    I have a trek 520['06]. LX rr/der, 105 fr/der with 52/42/30 crankset.
I hope to upgrade to sti levers. Is it possible to do this?
    Thanks
    keeto

I did it on my TREK 520 back in 1996 or so. No problem.

One of the key considerations will be compatibility with the V-brakes. You will also need to install "traveler agents" to compensate for the shorter pull of the sti then the diacomp V-brake levers.
